Northeastern Illinois University's Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Leadership, Equity & Inquiry is NEIU's first doctoral program, designed for educators, community leaders, and organizational change agents committed to advancing equity, justice, and innovation in education and beyond. Rooted in NEIU's mission of access and excellence, this practice-focused program prepares you to lead transformative change in schools, organizations, and communities across the Chicago region and globally.
As a scholar-practitioner, you will develop advanced skills in leadership, research, and equity-centered practice applying theory directly to the real-world challenges you face in your professional context.

In the meantime, we encourage you to:
- Complete a request form – if you have not already done so, please complete our Ed.D. information request form. This will ensure you receive updated information as it becomes available on the program, including planned events and info sessions.
- Explore the program - review curriculum details, admission requirements, and key program milestones on our LEI Program Page
- Applying - applications for the Fall 2026 inaugural cohort are no longer being accepted. We will begin accepting applications for Fall 2027 beginning September 2. The application submission deadline is May 15.
