About the Program
Northeastern Illinois University has signed agreements with Oakton College that allow for admission to both Oakton College and Northeastern Illinois University while you are enrolled at Oakton.
The objective of the program is to engage transfer students as early as possible, to better prepare them for the transition to the University. Students are encouraged to complete their associate's degree at Oakton College before transferring to Northeastern Illinois University.
Under the agreement, students have full access to Northeastern's offices of Enrollment Services, Academic Advising, the Library and Financial Aid while enrolled at the community college.
To stay eligible: you must maintain continuous full-time or part-time enrollment at Oakton College with a 2.0 grade point average to remain in the dual admission program.
Application Deadlines
Please note: your application must be submitted, and all college and university transcripts as well as any other required documents must be received, by the posted deadline.
Why do we ask for your Social Security Number? Providing your SSN is not required. Your SSN is requested pursuant to Public Law 93-579 for the University's system of student records, and for compliance with federal and state reporting requirements. An SSN is required if you are applying for financial aid, but is not required for admission to the University. Supplying your SSN ensures that you will be able to claim the American Opportunity Tax Credit, if you are eligible, on your federal tax return.

FERPA Statement
Under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) of 1974, updated February 2009, I understand that my educational records cannot be released without my written permission. I authorize the release of my academic records from Northeastern Illinois University (NEIU) to Oakton College (OC), and the release of any additional academic records from OC to NEIU, in order to share student data information between the two institutions without the violation of FERPA. I also authorize Northeastern Illinois University to order transcripts from Oakton College to facilitate the Dual and Guaranteed Admission process. I understand that I have the right to rescind this release agreement of my academic records at any time by notifying the University Registrar, at Northeastern Illinois University, in writing. My signature indicates that I have read and agree with the above statement.
Admission Application Certification Statement
I understand that withholding information requested on this application, including attendance at any other institution, or giving false information may make me ineligible for admission to Northeastern Illinois University and subject to dismissal if already admitted. I have read and understand all instructions and information on the application.
